Today’s mixed chick of distinction is Sally Hemings. She was a mixed race slave owned by President Thomas Jefferson who eventually gave birth to six children who were eventually freed from slavery and went on to live as free people. Sally was a familiar example of the common practice of masters participating in secret relationships with enslaved women.
