We decided to change things up today! Today’s mixed man of distinction is Lenny Kravitz. Born and raised in New York City, Lenny was destined for stardom being the son of famous African American actress Roxie Roker who was best known for her role as Helen Willis on The Jeffersons, and Sy Kravitz, a NBC news producer of Russian Jewish origins. With musical talent that was aching to be heard, Lenny embarked on a career in rock music when he moved to Los Angeles with his mother who had just gotten her breakout role on The Jeffersons. After launching his first album independently, the buzz around town spread and soon he landed a label deal and was well on his way to success! Lenny married actress Lisa Bonet and the two had a daughter Zoe. They divorced a few years later. Lenny is not only a talented musician but he’s also a great actor. He has been in several notable films including Precious and The Hunger Games. We love Lenny’s fierce commitment to staying true to himself and his mixed roots. He’s our Mixed Man of the Day!!!
