In honor of May being Mixed Chicks History Month, we want to know about the Mixed Chick that has inspired you! Whether it’d be a family member, teacher, TV personality, or a celebrity, post your story and a picture of a mixed race person you admire. Today’s mixed chick of distinction is Ann Curry. She is best known for being one of the country’s top broadcast journalists and was a fixture on the Today show for several years. Born in Guam but raised in Japan, her father is of Scottish, Irish, Cherokee, French and German descent while her mother was from Japan. The two met while her father during the US occupation of Japan during World War II. We celebrate her commitment to covering the top news stories of our time and showing the world that excellence comes in all colors, genders and backgrounds.
