Welcome to the Your Hair Story Series presented by Mixed Chicks. This dynamic, new innovative series allows Mixed Chicks users to share their personal stories behind their hair. Hair that kinks, coils, curls, waves, and tells a story reflecting their culture, race, ethnicity, and upbringing. Like our customers, hair comes in all shades, textures and shapes unique to each individual and here at Mixed Chicks we want to celebrate that to the utmost extent. Meet our exquisite Mixed Chicks women, men, and children who exhibit beauty from the root and give us honest, bold stories that we are honored to share with you.

What has your experience been with the Mixed Chicks products? My experience with Mixed Chicks has been phenomenal. My very first experience using Mixed Chicks products was a few years ago. I read an article about how Halle Berry uses the products and I could not resist.

What makes them different than other hair/beauty products you tried in the past? Why is MC different: There are sooo many options out there for hair products, but very few for mixed hair. I have struggled for so long finding a good option for my hair type and I think Mixed Chicks has put an end to that! Mixed Chicks caters to the curly haired guys and gals out there. We all have different types of curls and no matter the mix, Mixed Chicks is always there!

Do you have a Go-To or token Mixed Chick Product you cannot go without? Go to MC product: The Mixed Chicks leave in conditioner is an absolute must! Other than being budget friendly, it is soooo good! It tames, but doesn’t flatten your curls!

How has having a product specifically for your cultural/biracial/ethnic/multiracial background impacted your beauty regime? It is amazing to have a line of products made for mixed hair. Growing up I never thought I would find hair products that I would be able to use on my specific hair. The day I found the Mixed Chicks line, I was stunned, and so grateful I came across the products. Having a hair product line that is made for us mixed hair beauties out there is so amazing! I no longer have to struggle to find hair products for my unique hair, I know that Mixed Chicks will be there to assist with my curling needs!

How do your curls/hair texture represent your cultural/ethnic background? My curls represent my culture by showing off what my mama gave me. My mother has long blonde hair and blue eyes. My curls show off the other side of me. Some days I have tights curls and other days I have loose waves, it is all about what the day brings, but the one thing I can count on is showing my hair, no matter the texture and representing my culture, one curl at a time

What is one feature of the Mixed Chicks brand that empowers your hair/beauty care? I think the Mixed Chicks line is very empowering not only to women and not only to ” mixed chicks”. The products are for anyone, of any race, sex, or nationality. While the products are marketed to the curly heads out there, no matter where you come from, or the texture of your hair, love who you are and rock it everyday.

If you could define Your Hair Story in one word what would it be? ME: How I would describe my hair story, because that is what my hair is: ME

Why is the hair revolution celebrating natural/healthy hair types vital for our generation? I believe that this generation needs to be informed of the beauty of natural, curly, mixed hair! We must teach this generation to love who they are and embrace their culture, whether that be one ethnicity or four.

If your ‘Mixed Chick’ story were a song, what would it be? The nail of my Hair Story song would be: Tilt-A-Curl

Do you have any go-to beauty/hair bloggers or vloggers who inspire or help your hairstyles?  I don’t follow very many hair bloggers, but one absolutely, beautiful beauty blogger is @summerkelsey.
