Welcome to the Your Hair Story Series presented by Mixed Chicks. This dynamic, new innovative series allows Mixed Chicks users to share their personal stories behind their hair. Hair that kinks, coils, curls, waves, and tells a story reflecting their culture, race, ethnicity, and upbringing. Like our customers, hair comes in all shades, textures and shapes unique to each individual and here at Mixed Chicks we want to celebrate that to the utmost extent. Meet our exquisite Mixed Chicks women, men, and children who exhibit beauty from the root and give us honest, bold stories that we are honored to share with you.

Ada Wright

What has your experience been with the Mixed Chicks products? My experience with Mixed Chicks products has been quite amazing, I love how they are completely organic compared to many high end products we have on the market for hair.

Do you have a Go-To or token Mixed Chick Product you cannot go without? I can’t go a day without styling my hair with the Mixed Chicks Leave in which styles my hair every time I wash it and it leaves my curls so bouncy and light!

How has having a product specifically for your biracial/ethnic/multiracial background impacted your beauty regime? Having these types of hair products that leave my hair bouncing without taking away my curl pattern and making it look crunchy give me so much confidence!

How has having a product specifically for your biracial/ethnic/multiracial background impacted your beauty regime? My curls define my culture. I am from the Dominican Republic and not a lot of Dominican girls love their curls. My curl pattern represents all of my Dominican girls who have gone through self-hate with their hair, from keratin treatments, permanently straightening it, to accepting my beautiful bouncy curls and myself!

What is one feature of the Mixed Chicks brand that empowers your hair/beauty care?  I want to be an example to people around the world, to love your curls and love yourself! I grew up thinking “good hair” was straight which influenced me to kill my hair to something it wasn’t…Curls are just as gorgeous!

If you could define Your Hair Story in one word what would it be? If I can define my hair story, with one word I can say “JOURNEY” simply because it’s been a huge journey to bring my curls back to life from heat and chemical damage. Mixed Chicks does several features with their products that I love; the main ones are self-love and positive image of yourself.

Why is the hair revolution celebrating natural/healthy hair types vital for our generation? The hair movement that has been taking over really touches me, and I’m so happy that more girls are loving their curls and accepting who they are naturally. I celebrate every day for having this beautiful mane, I feel that at this point in my life I’m in a healthier phase mentally and my hair proves that physically I am as well.

If your ‘Mixed Chick’ story were a song, what would it be? If my Mixed Chicks were a song, I’d say “Smooth Operator” by Sade because these products manage my hair so smoothly, leave it extremely soft and bouncy, as ever I love that about this brand!

Do you have any go-to beauty/hair bloggers or vloggers who inspire or help your hairstyles? (If you are a blogger/vlogger please feel free to share information on your page/brand) I go by the name of Adaunveiled on Youtube, I became a Vlogger on Youtube to help girls on how to manage their curls!
