Mixed Chicks Black History Month – Jayne Kennedy

by Linda Ripoll in News on 14th February 2014

Our Black History Month woman of distinction today is Jayne Kennedy. Known for her stunning beauty, poise and talent, Kennedy was the first African American Miss Ohio who went on to become one of the top 15 finalists’ in the Miss USA 1970 pageant.

In addition to breaking barriers within the pageant world, Kennedy set her sights on the world of sports reporting. She became one of the first women to do sports reporting for the NFL.

Kennedy was and still remains one of the world’s most beautiful women and is a testament to women of color everywhere that one should never give up on her dreams and goals even when the odds seem stacked against her.

We celebrate Jayne Kennedy for being a beacon of hope for women of color around the world!
